First off, it’s Remembrance Day today so at eleven o’clock, please remember to observe the two minutes of silence, wherever you may be.

Second, I’m sorry I missed posting this weekend but I am sick in bed with a cold.

I hope you all had a great weekend and please remember our veterans.

No problem! It’s really important. I had every intention of doing a proper Remembrance Day post, but alas, sickness won out in the end. Hope you see you around 🙂

Hello again, I’m glad you are feeling better. I’m in the U.S. which observes Veteran’s Day. I am familiar with Remembrance Day because of a friend I had years ago who lived in Canada. Is the date fixed or does it change? It was interesting because I noticed they both were marked on my calendar, on the same day this year.

Hi there! Thank you, I am feeling better. 🙂 Remembrance Day is always on November 11th. It is from the end of World War I which officially ended on “the eleventh month, on the eleventh day, at the eleventh hour”. So that’s why on November 11th at 11 o’clock we have two minutes of silence to remember our veterans and those still serving. I always thought Veteran’s Day was fixed, too.

It is, perhaps, I just hadn’t had a calander before that listed both of them so I was wondering.

(with the exception of a couple of years in its history
when some tried to change the date.

Nice to know we are both Celebrating the same things on the same day, regardless of what we call it.

What did you think?
